I see. Well thank you. I'm just trying to downsize and offload excess stuff.

GR - I'd buy that bag off ya. I like those bags, haha. Let's me add my crap to it, and take out some that I want.

I like that bag, GR! It might be fun to look through even if there is nothing if value.

You put them in a jar/can/box and have young children look through them to put in non dated press-in folders.

it'd be so hard to melt something like the 1909. There's always a home somewhere for these guys, someone will appreciate it on their own personal level.

Yea. I have a daughter, a de facto step-daughter, and what I would describe as a god-nephew who were all born in 2009. So I have three chances for one of them to think it's cool that the penny is 100 years older than them!

I know. I'll be looking at the 09 copper sets, probably today. Let me know what you think of the coin when you get it!

What do you do with pennies with some degree of verdigris? I segregate copper with any degree of verdigris because it spreads. They aren't worth the price and time of Verdi-Care. I have about 3000 wheat pennies that have that problem. They are just sitting in plastic bags waiting for me to decide what to do with them. Any reasonable suggestions?

Nice. I suppose it depends on your attachment to them and how much time you want to spend on them. My current opinion is to shed excess stuff so I'd roll them and try to sell them for a buck or two a roll. I'd set aside the better dates/mm's for someone still willing to pay a premium for them..

I was just looking at some of my older nickels .. a few are not much better than the Lincolns you posted.
I did the nickels years ago. Maybe it is something to do with what stage of collecting a collector is in.
Or maybe something to do with availability of certain coins.
I don't know where I would draw the line on keeping coins that have a lot of wear or damaged.
I still feel if it is a coin that is common and not high priced, I would feel different than I would for keeping older classic coins.
