Hi guys, what would you do with coins such as these?

I would keep them in a special box or tube, simply labeled "Really old Lincolns" or something like that. I never tire of old pennies like these. They're sort of like old people whom you can learn a lot from, just being in their presence. Of course, the difference is that the pennies can't talk--but just imagine the stories they might tell if they could.

I coach gymnastics, and have a few of the girls who have State Quarter collections, or ATB's. I give them coins like this to hopefully spark an interest in other areas of the hobby.

It's a good question. But I never let a LWC go. If it makes its way to me, it has found a home.

The lighting in the picture kind of makes it look like 21, but in person it kind of looks like 26 S. Is there a way to try and refresh the date a little to find out? Send me your address John , I don't need it!

It has been tough T-Bop but with so much overflow, I'm starting to have an easier time letting go of the extra stuff.

I may be the only one ... I wish all the really worn and damaged Barbers, Mercury dimes, Indian head nickels, V nickels and Lincoln cents would get melted. Unless they are key dates

Nice. I'm just starting to think that if they aren't worth anything, then why hold onto them? So GR58, would you melt the 1909 I pictured? I figure it's not worth anything really. I'll probably give it to my daughter to put in her treasure box along with a 2009 cent. She was born in 2009 so maybe it will be kind of cool to her to have a cent as old as her and another cent 100 years older than her.

Would I melt that 1909 pictured? I would not feel good selling it to someone. Giving it to your daughter is cool. Many coin shops will end up with rolls of 1909 and 1909 vdb circ cents. They are common. It is not hard to get problem free examples. Many shops will have bags of damaged coins they don't want to sell. Like this bag
