Ciao,
I share with you the pictures of this coin, a French 5 Francs 1842 BB (Strasbourg) of king Louis Philippe I, with a spectacular doubled die on the obverse: you can easily see that the head is strongly doubled.

Do you know other coins with a doubled head, besides the obvious Morgan dollar 1888-O Hot Lips?

Ciao John, the coin shows the doubling only on the profile of the king and on the band fixed on hair.
Shouldn't be visible somewhere else in case of Machine Doubling, as all the die moves when producing a MD? For example on some letters of the legend?

MD can show only in one area. Coop can explain it way better than I. Maybe he will chime in soon.

This looks like MD to me, but I am not familiar with these coins so I wouldn't know if the devices are actually reduced.
