Hate to jump the gun but you left out 1853...here's gold dollar BG523, made in San Francisco by Deriberpe. He and Nouizillet constituted a mint, sort of.

I think 1853 was left out because the thread is for coins struck by the US mint in San Francisco and Carson City.

@numista a fine point on the difference between government and private mints...but the private San Francisco mints filled a need for coins for 5 years. I wish I could afford a Moffat or Kellogg coin, which were more legitimate than the jeweler's fractionals.
