One of my favorites. Better than Nicholson Collection example. B over C in Britannia. Unlisted variety.

I love this EF, right up my street, and a coin I've seen before so interesting to discover who owns it. You're correct, nicer than the example in the Nicholson collection too!
Speaking of 'better than the Nicholson example' I have something which I think you'll definitely like. I'll post it tomorrow...

A very nice example!! Tony Clayton,on his site "Coins of the UK", shows an example of 1673 halfpenny but without the 'B' of Britannia over-writing a 'C'. Plus a little history of the copper halfpenny.

Hi Aiglet7,
If you're interested to know more about the fascinating world of early milled copper and all the varieties which have been discovered over the years then the archives at Colin Cooke's site are an invaluable resource.
For halfpennies see the Dr. Nicholson collection:

For farthings Mr. Cooke's own collection:

Hours of fun to be had. The Winter evenings will fly by.. ;-)

Hogarth...I still remember the Nicholson sale. Wish I had bid on a few more coins. As you have an interest in British milled copper, you may want to check out the predecimal coin forum at http://www.predecimal.com
