A friend of mine asked me to go through some coins that her parents had collected over time. They were all raw in a jar, but, they had some silver coins in there, which I'm selling on ebay. There were also two very worn, what I assume to be, silver dollars because of their size and weight. I'm pretty sure the one that's least worn is a Peace dollar - it weighs 23.4 grams. The one that's most worn is 22.6 grams. Would it be worth trying to sell them on ebay, and how would I present them? (Oh, and yes she's giving me a small percentage to sell them for her) Here's the worn Peace dollar: And, here's the one that is extremely worn:

The first one you could sell on the bay as a PO1 I think. The other is too worn. John1

Nope. No date equals no p01. They are both slicks. Sell them on ebay and hope to get $20+

Since neither has a date I'd just list them as highly worn silver dollars and/or take them to a silver buyer (coin or pawn shop, traveling buyer, etc) for evaluation. Probably worth about $30 total.

Put them on ebay and someone will buy. Call them lowballs/pocket pieces and mention their possible history. Get the potential buyer's imagination going. You're sure to get at least melt and perhaps someone might try to snag them and try a date restoration technique like people do with Buffalo nickels, since these would be perfect silver dollar candidates that don't come around too often. Good luck!

The 2 of them do not qualify for a low ball P0-1 designation . and I don't think anyone would even want them for a pocket piece . So take them to a Gold and Silver place and try to get at least $12 each for them .

pawn shop, gold and silver buyer and I would think $12 would be tops on them.

Visit ebay and figure out the fees to list and sell, and add the PayPal rakeoff, then add the silver content, and figure out if you want to list them on ebay. You have the photos, already, just need to figure your price. Be sure and mention in your description that someone could do a date restoration on them, etc., etc., you'll get a sale, no question. Charge $3 for postage, or add $3 to your price and free shipping. Or, in lieu of all that figuring, just list them for $30 opening bid and watch what happens.

In my opinion, they are just silver planchets worth only melt value. As no date can be identified on both of them, they can't go for lowball coins as they are technically below the lowest grade for a coin. But... they are still worth their silver content. And we have seen in some large threads here that the internet is a wonderful place for those who want to sell stuff. 'Opportunism' is the keyword here. But not too much, or we'll have fun once again about those coins in this thread here: https://goccf.com/t/166229Just throw them on ebay as lowball Peace dollars and see if anyone is interested. They should be worth at least their melt value, in that case. You may try to get a bit more.

Sell it as silver bullion or cull coins. I see bids on that stuff on the time. You will see that there are many people who only want to buy silver bullion and could care less what kind of coin it was. Good luck.

Your LCS will confirm these and pay melt. Move on to something else.
