My girlfriend is going to kill me Thought I would share some of my recent purchases with you because I really have no-one to share them with...Hopefully you enjoy them as much as I do! Yesterday was my birthday (23) so I decided to treat myself with a couple coins I fell involve with on my watchlist. I told myself at the beginning of the week that I would absolutely NOT be bidding on these coins but I had to have them.... The first and my absolute favourite is this denarius of Geta and Janus Ric 79. The reason for this purchase is the large flan, very nice strike and surface, both the obv. and rev. are very pleasing (one of the nicest examples iv seen for the price) and lastly because I don't see this example for sale very often...I try my best to stick to my budget but some coins get more wiggle room than others..I paid 153$US . The second coin is of his brother Caracalla. I got this one for a very nice price of 55$US and I fell in love with the style of his portrait. The flan could be better but the strike and surfaces are decent! for 55 bucks why not right? The last one I grabbed is a AE Follis of Constantius II and the reason I grabbed this one was because of the mean looking portrait and it went cheap enough. I decided to grab this one at the last second for 21$ US. Hope you all enjoy and have a great day! All opinions are welcomed so tell me what you think? Comparing the foreheads we can tell who's the tyrant of the two. I'm not a huge fan of youthful portraits so I like how you can still differentiate certain characteristics from both mature portraits! I'm not very familiar with bronze so I'm just wondering if my attribution of RIC VII 506 is the correct information for the Constantius Follis?
