I dug this up on my parents property last week. I thought at first it was some sort of old military shell but after cleaning it up, I have no clue. Any ideas would be appreciated. It's non-magnetic by the way. Thanks in advance!

Looks like an old lipstick tube.

It's an old one. I haven't seen a metal lipstick tube in a long, long time.

When I saw this I was thinking that it had some mechanical or engineering application. I would never have thought about it being a lipstick tube. Well Done

I agree Trout. I was thinking either military or something that came off some piece of equipment. I did a little research and believe It was manufactured by Revlon. Not sure of the year yet. I have yet to find a full on reference site for these specifically.

You have to go back and find the top now.

That might be kinda tough, Buddy. Everything I've found on this type of lipstick refill has a plastic top. Here's an example:

Oh well -- no top them.
I'm amazed that you could find the brand. Good hunting there!

Thanks Buddy! Between Google and Pinterest, I was able to track it down. Circa early 60's. I've also found quite a few cut nails from the 1800's on the same lot. Can't wait to get back out there and see what else turns up.

Square head nails get me fired up especially when deep. Search the area slowly. AG

Thanks AG. I plan to take my time. I've got close to 2 acres of undetected (as far as I know) land to scan.
