Hi all,
This coin was among my great-aunt's collection of British half pennies, and is exactly the same size. I am having trouble finding if it actually is, in fact a half penny, as I haven't seen anything with these markings. Face on the front, possibly a scepter and shield on back? Looks like the initials F R on either side of the shield. A Swiss Franc maybe?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Janna

This appears to be a British "Gun Money" shilling of the then-deposed James II.

The initials on the back are actually "IR" (IACOBVS REX)
