So I'm really excited right now so please excuse me if my questions are dumb or I'm too excited for no reason. I found this while searching a 25$ box from my bank. I showed my wife and she asked what the double rim meant at the top of the obverse. I also have never found a wheat this old on this condition. But before I ramake forever.....is this a 1919d DDO? And would this affect it's grading negatively? I looked around and I'm getting excited. I didn't know if I should post here about the double rim or just post it in the grading forum and they would tell me? I'm usally 99% wrong but I can't keep thinking this time I'm onto something....

I didn't want to take it out of the 2x2 I put it in but I can if better picks are needed.

*the line that looks like it's coming out of his tie area is just the plastic on the 2x2.*

Uhg the plastic makes the car look a lot worse than it actually is but now I'm too scared to take it out because I might drop it lol

* I can totally see Doubling in We Trust and the tip of the 1st 9 in the date. I really want to take this out of the package and give you better pictures of what I'm seeing can I get any advice on the best way of doing it without possibly messing up the coin? And there is some dirt on the coin that hot water I'm sure it will wash off should I do that or not?

Not sure if it's a DDO. As far as the rim goes, it's most likely from misaligned dies...which isn't really uncommon.

The rim doubling is nothing of note, very minor MAD. Your pics are a bit too pixelated but I am not seeing a DDO. Have you checked CC's or Wexlers site for a match? For grading opinions post in grading section. It is a very nice find and the lowest mintage of the three mints.

I actually have tried to find matching DDS, but there are no coins of this year in the condition in which I can match my doubling too. I will take better pictures and post them soon.there are definite doubling going on all on the north sides of we trust and the 9 in the date. Could anyone tell me if it's ok for me to wash the coin with a little hot water only to get the dirt in the numbers out?

We need larger images to see what you are seeing. But the overall size of the devices tell me it is a normal coin. The devices maybe suffering from Machine damage. That will reduce the devices and make it appear they are doubled. On a hub doubled coin you can actually see that the devices are enlarged even from a small full sized coin. So help us with a closer view of those devices. 3-5 devices per image. that way we will see an overall view closer.

It's a solid EF-40, nice coin. Not a DDO but certainly a nice looking coin

I see an XF. Might be a doubled die. But from the pictures provided, it doesn't look like it.
