I was the winning bidder on this set the other day. I'm very happy with the price too: $38 + $13 shipping. So that puts the 36 medals at $1.42 each. I hope to find a brand new empty album at some point for a replacement.

The Apollo 11 medal has the correct time for Neil Armstrong stepping foot onto the moon (10:56 pm). Some medals show toning, which I prefer. It is my understanding that medals 37-60 are very hard to come by. I'm assuming it is because of low mintages. I'm definitely going to start researching this series. I love this stuff. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks, Deb. Yeah, I love this series. The designs are very nice, and I like how each medal contains historical information on the reverse instead of another design image. Each medal is 39 mm in diameter, so they're just a little larger than a silver dollar. This album has a heft to it for sure. It's kinda like having a history book on the space program in metal.

Excellent set!

Listed in Guidebook of Franklin Mint Issues 1982 Edition, page 51.

Medal 1-24 (bronze) Mintage 7,303 (issued 1969 - 1971)
Medal 25-36 (bronze) Mintage 2,970 (issued 1973)
Medal 37-60 (bronze) Mintage 618 (issued 1977)

Medal #12 (Gemini 6/7) and #24 (Apollo 11) were reissued individually in bronze.

Let me know, I can send a image of the page.
