I looked at several hundred more
Buffalo nickels today, no significant clashes...but....These were the full date nickels to be searched for Doubled dies and Re-Punched Mint Marks. I did manage to find a few interesting coins- 1 1935
DDR , 2 1937-D RPM , 1 1938-D RPM > While searching these circulated nickels, I wondered if I would even be able to catch much of anything and then...BAM...hits you like you could never miss something so obvious as this :

I figure this coin to grade F-12, maybe better. About $100 dollar coin

, to bad It's not mine unless I pay for it ! But I can share

You should be able to spot the serif splits at the tops of all the letters , and the dramatic line down the "V"- very cool. I have pictures of the rest of the reverse, but they are tougher to spot , alot to do with wear. I put some lines to the "areas of interest " on E PLURIBUS UNUM.

The next three coins are the RPM's (Re-Punched Mint Marks ) They are really hard to spot , especially on these worn and dirty coins. Did you notice all the nasties on the close-ups ?!?!? The Mint Marks tend to be filled with ...I don't even wanna know..Anyway...With my trusty 10X loupe glued to my eye, I managed to spot these four. First the 2 1937-D RPM's- You can just see the curl of the underlying D at the front of the Primary D, and a little extra metal inside the D- through the gunk !

Lastly is the 1938-D RPM. This one is slightly North and West of the primary Mint Mark- you can just see the tiny nub of the underlying D's serif above the primary D's serif at the bottom. Small amount of extra metal inside the D . I really LOVE that scope, but I see things I don't wanna see on these coins.
If you made it this far...Both of those 37-d coins are in my envelope at the shop. If you notice they both have a small die crack between the "E" and "C" above the Mint Mark. Both of these coins have the same crack, but I think one is a little more severe. In the first RPM pic, you can just barely see a trace of the crack, in the second it is much clearer, and has a tiny crack off the side- Keepers ! I hope you enjoyed looking at these as much as I did looking for them ! Every time I see a true doubled die it helps , hope it helps you too !
