I have read that there are many varieties but I cannot find much information. I bought an older Charlton guide for the extra variety section. It didn't have many examples. Anyone have a link or list from another source?

A member here, Paul, has written the definitive study on 50 cent pieces. He has spent years and years ID'ing things. I've known him over 15 years and he was well into it then. I hope that he chimes in. He wrote the 50 cent variety section for Charlton. However, any variety section in the back is always far from "complete", because there are severe space limitations in the guide. Maybe, as mentioned, many of the varieties haven't been "formally" published, but the info has been available if you knew where to look.

I don't think Paul really dived into the Victorian varieties Bill... most of his work is on George VI 50-cent varieties.

An earlier thread had mentioned a " flying D" variety. I was looking for more information about it.
