I've had this item for quite some time but could not fully ID it. It is a very thin silver coin about the size of a nickle, weighs 2.8 grams, and not fully struck. I have seen similar items on ebay attributed to the Ayyubid Dynasty. I am not even sure if I have the picture right side up. Are there any experts here that can attribute it?

I'm not sure but it looks like a coin from Israel
I see the Star of David on it

Sure it does looks like an Ayyubid coin to someone who knows nothing about these. And both images do seem upside down.

See my earlier thread:

Nobody ID'ed these three but it was mentioned that the lack of the legends around the star-shaped ornament may make exact identification impossible. So it depends which parts of the inscription are still there - and whether you need ruler+mint+date or assigning the coins to a certain ruler is sufficient for you.

Perhaps an issue of the Artuqids of Mardin.

BobL, I think you nailed it. These are tough to attribute. They all look so much alike, to me anyway. This is the only one I have and don't collect them. Thanks to all for your assistance.
