Hello all,

I picked this up today for about £7 but can't seem to find it on the internet when I research it, I can find a similar design for 1963 but not 1943, the only 50 Pesos I can seem to find are coins.

I just wondered if it has any sort of value, I've included a couple of pictures, any help would be much appreciate.

All the best

Your note was "demonetized" (actually devalued by a factor of 1,000) in 1996.

Here's a nice overview of Banco de Mexico issues:

Here's a webpage that specifically addresses your 50 pesos note:

It makes a point of mentioning that your 1943 dated Series R is for some reason not listed in the catalog. That said, I still wouldn't think it'd have a high present day value as a collectible.

Ah k, thank you for the response and investigating, its strange as the signatures doesn't match the one in the link, well 1 of them does (right), the middle signature matches the one on the 1945 note..... who knows.

Into the collection it goes anyways.

All the best and have a great weekend

You have a P41c 1943 but a different variety. The catalog numbering system would list your note as a P41c(1) for the different signature. This is shown on the P41d(1) and P41d(2).

Sorry, I simply wasn't paying attention to the signatures.

Banco de Mexico will actually still honor such a note, but at the exchange rate as recalibrated at he beginning of 1996. So the face value of this works out such that you'd need 4 of them to be able to be redeemed for the equivalent of just 1¢ U.S. That, of course, is immaterial relative to its value as an artifact.

Ty both, yea I don't intend on travelling to Mexico to redeem 1c lol, tbh even if the bank was 100 yards away I wouldn't as I love collecting them.
I was just curious about it's artifact value, again, not to sell, just curiosity.

Thank you both for your responses :)
