I got this coin in a collection of miscellaneous silver coins that I bought. I had no idea what it was but I soon found it to be a Serbian 1 Dinar coin, 1875. I can't find too many online, but I did find this one with an error for sale on ebay, and they are asking £240.79

Well, it may be a silly question, but I was wondering if anybody knew if this was a coin with any errors, as I don't know what possible errors there could be.

Also if anyone could have a stab at value or an estimate of grade as I'm trying to get used to grading coins. I would have thought VF, with 75% of design remaining? maybe a bit less. Is it worth about £20 or so? Or not as much.

Many thanks in advance :) Toby.

The coin looks pretty worn to me, but at first sight it looks authentic.

I'm not sure what kind of errors you are expecting to find here, but in case you want to compare it with a high grade sample, then check here: http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces27311.html

Hello

Nice coin. Your coin does not have an error like one on ebay.
This issue from 1875 is a bit more rare compared to 1879 issue. But if you had 2 dinars 1875 in that condition it would be 3 figures easily.
All Best

Greetings from Serbia
