Hello from the south coast! I'm very new to collecting but have always found the idea very attractive. So I'm finally diving in and hoping to gain a lot of knowledge and hopefully give back to the community once the time is right!

I'm a very frugal collector and I don't have a lot of money to throw at it, so I'm interested in starting my collection as cheaply as possible and learn enough to make a few bucks to help fund myself along the way.

I started with Jefferson nickels, lincoln cents, and recently State Quarter folders to get my feet wet. I'm more interested in completing sets than purchasing higher dollar items right now and will save that when I can learn how to spot a good buy.

So any tips, recommendations, or forums I should start with considering these interests would be great!

Glad you found us!~
I love collecting sets of coins as well.
If you haven't already, pick up a "2017 Red Book".
A wealth of information about US coins.
I have been collecting 40 + years and still buy them

Thank you NumisRob and Debrajc!

I do indeed have the Red Book along with The Expert's Guide to Collecting & Investing in Rare Coins by Q. David Bowers.

I'm hoping I can at least get a decent foundation through reading books and talking to folks here, so I'm glad I found y'all as well!
