I have been around for awhile, reading. I think the internet term is "lurking" hah ... But finally pulled the trigger on making account account. Figured I'd follow suit and post here under new members. :)
Hello world.
EDIT: I guess I'm getting a little ahead of myself posting and not including my coin collecting information. I started going through change when I was very young. I have not really got in to finding error coins or really understand what makes an error, and it is my goal to understand that much better, and also the reason for joining officially. I go through dimes as a hobby from the bank. I once did a promotion for my business where we mailed out dimes to get people to open letters with promotional materials inside. Ever since the bank thinks I do that regularly so I pick up $5000 of times and go through them looking for the silver ones. I have a coin rolling machine like the banks would have, professionally crimps them. I spend the dimes back for gas, groceries, etc like that. I have averaged finding 1 silver dime in every $79.13 to date. Taking the price at the time of whenever I have found them I have averaged making $17.61/hour doing this by silver value. My best find, as far as I know (Don't know about error coins) is a dime from 1840. Edited by Slydexic 10/12/2016 2:31 pm

Welcome!
That dime is a fantastic find! After showing my husband your photo, he started whining that between the rolls and circulation change he has been searching since 1978, he has never found one of those...

I've gone through $115,000 of dimes to find the one that is that old. Don't feel bad, it is the only one I have found nearly this old. The usual ones that are silver are ones that still have Roosevelt on it, they barely look different, just from the side they do not have the copper band on it. It is nearly 1 in 800 that I find this way.
