Sweet! I think 1883-O is your favorite for VAM's based on some previous threads.

Nice looking V4 Dave! I didn't know you needed one. I almost sold one of my extras at the local shop the other day, but you could have had it. You'll have to send me your list again because it was on the old 'puter. Might be able to find it in email, but could take some time.
CONGRATS!

I really didn't need it Nate. I've got a raw one that Chris sent me a while back. I was, believe it or not, hoping this was a V16. The seller's images were just bad enough that I could tell it was one or the other. Turned out to be the other.

Funny how I've sent both of you v4's. Nate's is a semi-pl with a nice bit of color I grabbed for him off the bay. One of the most beautiful 4's I've seen. No wonder he now has extras

I somehow already forgot the deal Chris, but yes it is a nice coin that I almost didn't get because I didn't have the funds at the time. Thanks again Chris. The funny thing about the V4 is people always try to sell them online for a premium because it is a list coin, in all reality it is the second most represented VAM in the entire SSDC registry, right behind the 1888-O V4. It sure is a neat variety, and abundant, so everyone should have at least one ;) I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a V16. Not sure if I have an extra or not, but I may. Dave, if you email me the list of varieties you need I will try to help. I wasn't able to look online in some time, but have been more and more recently. Well, good luck!

Well, didn't mean to downplay Dave's pick... sorry Dave. It really is an awesome variety, and the only reason it is so populous in the registry is because everyone wants one being a list coin and they are relatively easy to find in higher grades and even DMPL. Yours looks to be a later die state. There are many more common 1883-O varieties, that is for sure, but they probably have only a small fraction of the population in the registry than V4 because no one looks for the "common" varieties. Well, some of us do ;)
Chris, I think I finally remembered. Was it the trade for 1885-P V23A EDS? NGC 63? I REALLY had to rack my brain to remember... I didn't think I was getting that old!

Totally agree with you Nate. There are just too many VAM-4's out there for me to want to pay a premium. This one and the one from Chris were zero premium paid.

The key is to find a nice one, and that you have ;)
