Here is a recent article by Rick Snow published in the September CDN newsletter regarding the PDS grading system which may have some merit in reducing grade-flation. it takes in consideration all of the issues we tend to face using the current 70pt grading system.

I love the idea.

It provides a lot more information. I would have liked that a lot when I first started collecting and didn't know much.

It is an interesting system, but it may be too tedious for most collectors and most coins.
