Hi,
While cleaning out my dads attic....I found these two
medals. Both the same size ..1 inch square. Not sure what they are or where they are from.
Any guesses would be cool. Also if anyone knows where I
should take them to get identified would be nice.
Cheers,
Westking

First medal has a letter in Devanagari, so it would be from India or maybe Pakistan.

Second looks like mumbo jumbo. The six sided star with the dot in the middle is the Seal of Solomon, a religious Islamic symbol. It would he the Star of David without the dot. On the other side, I don't recognize the importance of the Z, but the A-W is Alpha and Omega, referring to the passage in the Bible. I also see an Ankh, which I think obliterates any chance of finding a coherent meaning here.

Also, the second one has a snake eating it's tail around the edge! Cool.

I think that Finn is on to something. The second medal especially has some imagery in some versions of the Seal of Solomon:

Here is one image that is very close and includes the snake eating its tail:

The Emblem of the Theosophical Society is composed of a number of symbols, all of which have been used from very ancient times to express profound spiritual and philosophical concepts about the human being and the universe. They are found in a variety of forms in the great religions of the world and their universality is further shown by their appearance in widely separated cultures. Each symbol studied separately will yield a wealth of understanding. Taken together, as in this emblem, they suggest a vast evolutionary process embracing the whole of nature, physical and spiritual, and their study may lead the serious inquirer to contemplate some of the deepest mysteries of existence.

The first one is hand engraved and the cross looks hand cut, and the loop for the chain was made in Taiwan. The second one looks Rosicrucian.
