That is a killer woodie! And I believe it is caused by metal impurities if I am not mistaken. I haven't found many woodies on wheat cents. I seem to always find minor ones around 1980 or so.
The black circular spots on the coin are carbon spots. Something that is a deal breaker for me on a BU coin. But I would call this one a woody. Not pretty as mentioned though.
