2008 Gilded Kookaburra

I was on of the 3,000 who was chosen in the draw for the 2008 Gilded Kookaburra from the Perth Mint.

The fun part was I received with it a personal letter from one of the staff as They had received from me via return mail the envelope my invitation for purchase came in.

some how the mailing was done from Singapore using Singaporean postage and a Singapore return address. some one is trying to save money on Australian postage.

and since it was mailed from Singapore it went out almost a month later than those letters posted in Oz.

the nice part is
The same person who mailed the letters sent the domestic letter overseas so those of us Expats were able to purchase the coin for the cost of the coin plus the cost of domestic postage.

- I saved a bunch on this one.
