Short version: not regal/genuine, cast... likely a 20th century Central American imitation piece.

The detail is cartoonish, custom or hand-engraved (i.e., NOT a direct copy of an actual coin) and is more imitative of a Potosi 1 or 2 reales piece than any gold type. The styling resembles that usually seen on Central American replica/tribute pieces (imprecise enough that they're really not meant to be "forgeries") that have been made throughout the 20th century up to today... and if nothing else, it's probably not much older than that b/c, again, it's not close enough to any "regal" gold piece to have been intended as a contemporary counterfeit.

Given that weight for the diameter (depending on thickness), it "could" be done in some gold alloy rather than plated/washed. Have you tested it and/or done specific gravity?

You can peek at the following for some related discussion... many of the pieces discussed/noted were straight castings of actual reales pieces - yours is hand-engraved.
