There is no rim to speak of and it is thinner (1.0 mm) than a regular 1963 penny (1.5 mm) and has a smaller diameter (18 mm) compared to a regular 1963 penny (19.05 mm).
I dont have a weight.

There is also:
- horizontal flow metal lines along both sides of the coin.
- both sides look weakly struck.
- lettering and date are thin.

Was this stuck on a split planchet?

The penny in question in the photos is on the right; the one on the left is a regular 1963 penny.

It's acid. The skinny letters are a giveaway.

Yep...acid for sure. Diameter evenly reduced is another giveaway. Acid treated coins have plagued our hobby for many years. Just search ebay for thin or foreign and several will always show up for sale. ugh!

It is a good coin to study the effects of acid... when it comes to collecting errors, experience is the best teacher.
