Here the bid page of 5 people bidding on a FAKE 3rd print error..

Current Bid $213.50

http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI....047675.l2565

Since ebay allows this, and most sellers complain I don't know what I'm talking about, I now sit back and enjoy the show..

Only this time the bidding is crazy and worthy of a post here.

Or you could post it in the counterfeit forum with an explanation as to why it's fake and I'll get it removed.

Sometimes these are run up by people who know they are fake to protect the unsuspecting buyer. They put in a knock out bid with no intention of paying.

if you are going to alter an error at least do your research and do it right. haha. (but seriously, don't alter notes and sell them as errors for profit.)

So I guess no one cares if it runs till the end? As I said earlier, post in the appropriate forum with a short explanation and I'll get it removed.

If anyone checks my past posts, they will find I've done all I could to warn others not familiar with false errors of these listings..

As a 19 year ebay member, my complaints of fraudulent listings are ignored and adding insult to injury, receive nasty replies from the sellers..

When ebay changed their listing format, the bottom feeders have nothing to fear as members can no longer contact other members and advise them why they should retract their bid..

I've also been a victim of fraudulent listings on ebay's Global Sites & it comes down to self educating yourself and know what your bidding on..

To be a genuine 3rd print error, the four black numbers on the face should also be shifted.

Example of a genuine 3rd print error: http://oldcurrencyvalues.com/Mispri..._Seal_Money/

I stopped posting the Diagnostics of genuine errors so as not to help educate those creating the fakes..

Broken-Coin, I don't understand why you don't just post it here on CCF in the counterfeit forum with your explanation so Bobby can have it removed. ebay may not listen to us individually, but they listen to Bobby, and instead of complaining that no one listens, you could easily get it removed via that route. Bobby has done wonders for the hobby and us, and usually with little thanks.

Why does it have to be posted in the counterfeit forum for someone to do something about it?

There is one section completely & totally dedicated for reporting items like this. " ebay counterfeit reporting for all US coins & currency" bobby can not go looking in every section of his sight for these reports. It's not cost effective or time efficient. also all reports are in one place for other members can be made aware and forewarned. The only request he has is report it in that section. That would be my guess
