My daughter accumulated lots of candy and even got 8 quarters from Mema for her piggy bank. Anyone else get coins too?

Good job, man. I know it's a tough one to have candy duty. It was good to see more kids out trick-r-treating. Over the past few years this seems to have increased in my area- kind of like when I was a kid. Love that. Yes, feel free to share the image. I love those Hobos.

I gave away a dozen or so Buffalo nickles in with the candy of a few of the older trick or treaters.
We didn't have as many this year as in years past. I have WAY too much candy left this time.

I had absolutely no kids here for trick and treats today. I wonder why.

Halloween has only been a thing here in the last few years, perhaps due to the sudden need of the shops to find another reason to sell a lot of unnecessary stuff. We never had it and we used to have a similar tradition here called 'julebukking', which is held between Christmas and New Year's, which has now suddenly been replaced with Halloween. Perhaps because there's a bigger sales potential for costumes and decoration than it is with our own tradition...

Anyway, the first year that it was a thing here we actually had some kids at our doorbell and we were of course completely unprepared. As they wouldn't settle for cat food or a bread slice with jam, they left disappointed. Since, we always have stocked up candy and guess what: no one visited us since....

So if anyone wants a bit of Halloween candy, then come and get it...
