Hi,

I recently bought 3 ancient Roman coins off of ebay. I don't really know anything about ancient coins but they were relatively cheap, so I decided to buy them because they where old and seemed interesting. Anyways, I was wondering if these coins are real. I know that it is impossible to know for sure over the internet, but from what you can tell, do these look legit? Thanks, any help is much appreciated.

Also if you recognize these coins and could give me any other information on them, that would be really helpful. I am curious how much they would be worth.

They all appear to be genuine uncleaned denarius, thou 1 and 2 might be fouree which are contemporary fakes. This highly collectible. Going to need clear pictures for and ID thou.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to include this, but this is what this was part of the descriptiom on ebay:

Domitian: Caesar under Vespasian 69-79 AD; Caesar under Titus 79-81 AD; Augustus 81-96 AD.Fourree denarius

Does that help at all? I can try and get clearer pictures.
Also, do you know how much these would be worth and should I bring them into a local coin store? Thanks!

Agree all look to be genuine ancient coins. 1 and 3 I think are provincial (the provinces outside of Rome proper were allowed to keep making their traditional coins in bronze, just with the Emperor's portrait). 2 is almost certainly an ancient counterfeit, of either Lucius Verus or Commodus. Not worth as much as the real deal, but still collectible.

It helps, but clearer pictures would be better.
