I was looking through my change earlier, and noticed the initials area on the obverse of this Harper's Ferry quarter. I'm trying to be more aware of when the tiniest mint errors on my coins, so I decided to ask- is this even an error?

From what I've read it is an error and not a variety. Maybe Grease Filled Die or MD from vibration. Please note, I'm very new to coin collecting. Definetly check back for an experts opinion. Good job noticing something different.

Looks like a chip on top of the initials.

The 4th image shows the chip very well.
