So I found this penny and noticed that the 0 in the date was off and definitely not correct. I wanted to know if this is a possible error coin?

IMO it was hit by some thing PMD - post mint damage.

It was damaged outside of the mint so it is not worth anything

Thx for sharing.
I'd still keep it for its copper content. Pre-1982 (and some '82) pennies are 95% copper
