Here's the problem I'm seeing. This is comparing it to an 1888/7 of mine in about the same condition.

The date position has to be exactly the same. Now I know the angles and rotations are a bit different, so this could be what is throwing it off, but yours looks a little farther left, especially the 1.
The
Cud on the rim is very hard or nearly impossible to see with examples that are this worn, so I don't think that is reliable. What we need is a better shot of the bottom of the last 8. What I find best is to shine some light from the bottom of the coin upwards so that the light catches the blob of the 7 sticking out from the 8. See my picture below..

Can you try something like this? I see something on your coin in the same spot, but it's just not clear enough at the moment.
