I know the answer is here on the forum somewhere, but I have read all the related posts and can't find the answer. I ought to be able to figure it out but I have problems getting the images the same size and which way to rotate/flip the second image. Anyway, can someone point me to the steps here or elsewhere? Thanks

I don't know how they do standard overlays, but my animated overlays, which I think are much more informative, are pretty easy to do. I use Paint.net, and ezgif.com. If you want to try making one let me know and I'll go through the steps...

One area where I don't agree with coop's workflow is in scaling of the image. If you are the one taking the images, then I recommend ensuring they are both taken at the same magnification, and no scaling is performed. This ensures that any differences in position of features are not artificially homogenized between the two images. It also makes the process much easier!

mamastinky-I do not. That is another one of those skills I have not attempted yet. By the way, your pick and those old Lincoln woodies are outstanding!

Thank you! I am working on creating a topic right now that explains how to stack using the free software I have. I will be posting it tonight.
