Might as well post my only 16th century Lithuanian - which is also the only other 16th century AD dated coin I have ready photos for... ...rather sucky photos, admittedly (they came from a smartphone camera, in somewhat unfortunate ligthing conditions - and it didn't help that the coin was tiny). It's an 1555 denar/penny (though the last digit is hard to see, both in hand and on the photo). ...I'll probably try to take much better photos eventually - even as much as I dislike making new photos of my coins, this particular pair just sucks so much I'd feel awful keeping it that way. (But of course this thread, and HFBCWG-3 before it, will preserve the originals for posterity; as far as this thread is concerned, I might post the updated photos in a separate post later.)

Great post @collects82! I should point out that the first coin in your post (the 1482 half-schwertgroschen) could actually be posted in my original thread, which is a bit more restrictive than this one. http://goccf.com/t/269713Yours coin looks like it can be attributed as Levinson I-185. If you want, it can join my example of this type over there as a brother.

Quote: Does the date must be on the coin? Yes sorry Petrus, but that was the idea... Quote: 1. You must own the coin and post photos of your coin. 2. Coins need to be dated using the AD system. 3. The date must be 1599 AD or earlier.

I assume that dated coins with the dates off flan (but identifiable, i.e. one year types) can count as well (I kind of have one of those for 1599, but it's not in the AD calendar).

@january1may, with this thread I'm trying to be as inclusive as possible within the range of coins that are AD dated. Please just use your best judgement!
