I can't find any 1953-S BIE's listed. Could this be a first?

It could be. JC will still be out for a few more weeks with his grandchildren. So you'll have to wait for him. But I do want to hear what others have to say

No match on cuts on coins, but a little similar to a 1953S-BA5S in Jean Cohens book, although that one has a small break on the top left of the B pointing toward 10:00 o'clock and a break in the left wheat that I am not seeing in your coin. It could be a new one. One of the experts will jump in soon.

I think I can see the crack above the "B", as well as the break on the wheat ear, but it is early and my eyes haven't quite woke up.

Internet down yesterday as I got a new modem installed. Much better now.

Thanks so much for the help on this one! The break in the left wheat is quite obvious when you know to look for it but I don't see conclusive proof of anything at the top of the B. You know if you look hard enough you will find what you are looking for, but for that part I am just not sure. However, it would certainly seem to be a 1953S-BA5S

I am by no means an expert but that looks like the one you have.
