Here ya go, I found this in my change yesterday, at first I was thinking broad struck, but then after looking a little closer at the coin, it had some more interesting features than you average error penny.

So now I'm thinking a die cap error? I mean it does seem to have the "bottle cap" rim look starting on it, but not quite as strong or full force like others. When looking at this coin stacked and sandwiched between to average pennies, its hard to miss its much thicker rim, which by the way, seems to be evenly thick on each side of the coin, and not just some on one other. , the coin is much thicker on the rim than any standard pennies, and yet, is also only a TINY bit smaller in its circumference than the average penny. I dunno, but as always appreciate everybodys help and opinions on my threads!

Ah, ok, ive read about Dryer Coins before, just all of the examples Ive seen looked nothing like this. They all looked like they had been washed with acid almost, and the texture was very smudged all over at least one of the 2 sides. I just assumed that was the key characteristic when looking for Dryer Coins. So Dryer Coins can also be completely fine as far as the details on both sides of the coin, but the rim grows larger while the faces get smaller? I must have missed that part of the reading! Thanks for the reply, I guess I gotta go re read that section again!

I can see it now, in the fields of the coin, just not as strong as some other examples Ive seen, but I can connect the dots! Thanks for pointing that out!

to the forum!

The edge of the coin get rolled and pushed towards the center. Eventually, if the coin stays in that environment long enough, it can roll the edge over to make the coin a very small diameter. They look pretty cool, but like was already said, they are damaged and have no collector value other than a conversation piece.
