I got to meet Apitrix and dollarman. It was not bad of a show but I agree that some of the dealers were rather rude..

Very much so, not going to name dealers, but when someone has a 50% off bin, and I take out coins, get told they can't do 50% or full book price. And tell me to pay for the cert and the coin. I agree to pay full for the coin and get yelled at over $5. Don't believe I will ever deal with that person again. Left a sour taste in my mouth

Yes Apitrix, there are some rude, penny pinching dealers out there and I can certainly think of a few.

Definitely NOT Greg from Lighthouse as he is knowledgeable, professional, ethical and price-wise, very fair.

100% I greatly enjoy dealing with Greg, he is polite, and more than happy to work out a deal. I am always happy to see him at the shows

I can't even figure out how you would stay in a business with yelling at people!!

The way I see it... people are spending their good money on non-essentials! When it comes to where I spend my extra money... I want to enjoy the experience!

i was there with Apitrix with that one dealer losing it..i get he needs to make money and may have been frustrated by someone before us but it is still not excusable at all to snap at a customer..that left a bad taste in my mouth too. there were a couple other dealers who could've been friendlier but other than that no complaints other than not being able to but everything lol. I'm happy I won the single lot I was after in the auction, that made my day

Was is it the dealer that his name or company name starts with a 'G'? (not 'Greg')

He's always yelling and is a complete wacko.

actually no, it didn't start with a G..the dealer actually is a nice guy IMO, I spent some time talking to him at the coin expo and he seemed outstanding and was very kind and smart and helpful..i'd rather not hurt his reputation over one thing like this..i think he was just a bit frustrated but did apologize after he snapped..i don't agree with snapping at a good customer EVER but I can understand and doubt he'd do it again.

These days with the Canadian economy being sluggish and the Canadian Coin Market being very slow ( hardly describes it), there is no excuse for a dealer to treat any potential customer poorly. These days a good customer is GOLD.
Sure dealers have a bad day or a bad show and it can be incredibly frustrating. The customer is no place to vent frustrations.
A good rule to all dealers, who perceive a painful customer or situation. If you have someone who helps you ( lucky dealer) say " Excuse me I have something I have to attend to" . If you are alone ask the dealer to either side of you to watch the table and go for a walk to the concession or washroom. Amazing how quickly it diffuses the situation.
Another rule That is paramount. If you have a half off box or bin , or some other special. If you have messed up honour the commitment to the buyer who is there. Fix it after they have left , do not argue with the customer, then write it off as a mistake. You will be amazed at the good free advertising this will bring that dealer.

The customer will be happy and will let others know about a major " RIP" . Get into a fight or argument over the same situation and the dealer will be amazed at the amount of free bad advertising that generates.

^^^that post is perfectly done and I don't think it could be said better than that I agree 100%. also, it may sound like I'm trying to defend the dealer too much but I'm not, I still think that was REALLY wrong of him.
