Can't really help you to much with the coin shops in the Chicago area. I live in this area and have never really found a coin store/shop of any use or desire to go back after a one or more visits. However, if your in the Chicago area remember there are a minimum of 3 coin shows every month in the immediate area. Funny thing is one of the best dealers at those shows comes from a place called Greendale, Wi., Wherever that is. If you get a chance to go to one of those shows his name is Robert Griffiths and is usually in the center location of all 3 shows. If you want a listing of them just go to Google and type in coin shows in Illinois.
Someone I've known for many, many years works in a coin store in a place called Niles, Illinois 60714. If your in the area the address is 7637 N. Milwaukee Ave and is called Niles Coin Shop, what else?
Whatever you do, if your in the Chicago area keep away from that so called famous place in the center of the downtown area. Won't even mention the name.

There is a great coin shop on River Road in McHenry, and I know there is a coin shop In Zion, but have not been in that one.
