Hello!
I was looking through some wheat pennies and found a 1954-S with a D on the back. This seems pretty impossible to me, but I'm no expert. Is this a D or something else entirely? Thanks in advance!

Good photos and I can see why you would ask. You will notice the dark areas around the blemish you refer to. This looks like this sent has been hit in that area and has corroded a bit near that hit.

Keep searching. Folks find cool stuff almost every day.
