I do think that there are signs of cashless society all around. Eg, some vending machines now have the option to pay by sms. Many toll roads are either cashless/a token system or have plans to become cashless soon. It will happen at some point, however I doubt it will be something that is rushed. Maybe when it gets to the point where it is to expensive to transport coin in bulk amounts, as I am sure I read somewhere has happened in the use with the cent.
