I was wondering if anyone would perceive there might be any additional numismatic value on a 2016 coin and currency set with the serial number A 00006558 A ? I know the normal set itself will probably never have value beyond my enjoyment value for having it...but I know there is a subset of currency fans. Thanks for any thoughts  Edited by crazyglue

Never mind, I did a search on ebay for sold 2016 low serial number sets and they do not hold any additional value. Still neat to look at. |

I just got mine out and in the description of the dollar paper bill included in the set it specifically say a "low serial number" was chosen.

All of them I have seen so far start with 0000 And yes, hold on to it  |

Crazyglue, this series has a very dedicated collector base but it is also very small so this results in low demand and low prices for the products. While I am one of the dedicated few and I do like the enhanced dollar I still feel that the 2015 offering was in essence a reverse proof finish. This could be one of the big reasons why the C&C set is not selling well this year along with the total avaliable.
dd27, I like the chart. I looked up the previous sales of the previous years enhanced dollars. Unless the mint manages to sell more than 6,700 sets in the next few weeks we will have the lowest Mintage since the Goodacre dollar. Could this be a contender for the series key date?

The product limit of 75,000 will haunt this one for a while.
You can pick up SP69 PCGS EF dollars for around $15...70's for around $45
