Hi Guys I was wondering if you guys have got coins from

J&M Coin & Jewellery Ltd? Reason I'm asking is because I pre-ordered some silver maple leafs from them today and had some questions unanswered. Did any of you have anyway of tracking your order's when getting coins from them? I even called them back to ask for the person who was helping me before and said he was busy and would call back. I told the guy on the phone to please take my email and send somesort of confirmation of my order and so forth and he refused to take it saying "you can give it after the other guy calls you back" I was sorta takin back that they wouldnt even just send the info on my order to my email ,My fax machine doesn't work right now So I wanted a simple email with them saying a simple "The order went through for this much and everything is a okay" Anyway I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this company there Website is fantanstic but the people answering there phones and stuff dont seem so "happy" to deal with a customers simple question..

I've ordered from JandM, and while I was pleased with the coins I purchased, I found their customer service a little unresponsive. I just had to get on them and call for an update.

Thanks for your feedback Kurt how long ago did you oder from them? I got this fellow named Edgar [his voice sounds asian] maybe you got the same guy?The other guy was like you said really unresponsive its almost like there "ticked off" but trying hard to cover that up? I have dealt with lots of people before and every other coin place I called was really nice and I even got them to laugh with me about stuff. Today the order went through and all but I didnt get anysort of email confirmation like I get with other place's or atleast them asking me for my email[which they didnt]I dont have doubts the order went through I just want to have a comforting email telling me everything is A Okay? IS that to much to ask for ?

Kurt How long did it take for you to get your coins?

I ahven't purchased any coins, but I did order the 2008 catalog, and got the CDROM, instead. I want the "B-O-O-K". My vision doesn't help much, trying to thimb thru a CDROM! The service was great, however, tom-wise.

Archie, I dealt with Edgar too. This was last year, and it seems you just need to get the "right person" to talk to--like many businesses. And agreed--if JandM wants to have an online presence, they could provide a confirmation/tracking email. Amazon.com is the standard by which other online companies are judged, imo.

Btw-- There's a lot of helpful Canadian collectors here.

Thanks for the replies you guys and I'm happy to join you Aswell Kurt

Actually Edgar was more responsive then the other lad I talked to first LOL!! Edgar forgot to take my email or anything instead telling me the final price was $227.00 and I asked him when I should expect to get the order and how to track it and Edgar told me "ill get it to you in 2-3 days" I figured Id phone back and make sure he gets my email so I can have some sort of confirmation/tracking info ,Since my Order they told me first was "out of stock" I pondered how Edgar would "get it to me in 2-3 days" LOL! so I thought maybe he meant he will Call my phone number in 2-3 days is what he meant? Edgar said on the phone he locked in the price which is great and all But I just want an email with all the info on there just for refrence and make sure everything is okay in tracking my order. ITs funny aint it you give them your personal Credit card info , and We try to get some Simple questions and requests fullfilled to track our orders and confirmation email's and get the "cold shoulder" LOL!! . Edgar was a nice fellow to deal with I only wish he would of asked me for an email and so forth . I dealt with Big Coin shops like JM before for instance Colonial Acre's And they were very helpfull and Wonderfull and responding to any questions I had About my order oh and Big shout out to DC coins founder Daniel Carr Who doesn't run a Huge operation at all but still make sure to respond to your Questions and emails with lightspeed LOL! I have told many many friends of mine that if they are to buy coins give ole Daniel and the great folks at Colonial Acre's a call,And now I'm hoping that I can Add the folks over at J&M to my "Xmas list" so to speak HAHAHA!

My dad got a 1948 $1 PCGS MS-62 there for $1000 only 1 year ago. Now people pay that for an AU-50... Needless to say we were (and are) pleased.

That's quite a good price, even for 1 year ago! Last fall, they sold me a MS62 (ICCS) '48 50c: $290.

Im happy to hear that pattiewhack. I only wish the person on the phone would of asked for an email adress to confirm for me all the details since I dont have a fax machine handy. I took Kurts advice about "getting on them" and decided to snag there email address of there site and sent Edgar a very polite email asking him to give me some info on my order . I'm sure they will come through ,but as Kurt said it would take alot of the hassle away if they just did like colonail acre's,DC coins and Amazon do when you order from them its not asking for much at all and I dont see how they shouldnt be able to do something so simple like that?

I did buy a couple of coins from them but have no issues to report. Only that shipping took longer than usual (eg compared to the Mint) but I can't remember the specifics. All was done via e-mail and I paied with a credit card.

Hey Marc thanks for the heads up on your experiance with them , I wish They just took my email address from me [which edgar didnt even ask for ?] then it would all be Great as they did for you by contacting you by email, But with them not doing such a simple thing as calling me back and taking my email to keep me up to date is really poor communication with a customer and it comes of sorta rude by not doing something for a customer thats so simple and easy as taking down an email . I dont see how its so hard to just take my email and send me some info as I already gave them my credit info and so forth . I sent an email to edgar at there j&m email address and I'm still waiting to here from them . I remember Edgar said "I'll get it to you in 2 or 3 days" I dont know if he was answering my question about giving me some sort of confirmation of the order or if he actually meant he will send them coin's in 2-3 days ? LOL! which doesn't seem right because he said they were sold out of the coin ,So maybe he means he will contact me by phone since he never asked for my email. All I wanted was to call back and drop my email of to him so he could contact me. Instead the other guy cut me off from telling him to give edgar my email and told me "once he calls you back then you can give it to him" I was like UMMM ! and then he was like "Okay Very Good! and hung up" I thought to myself "Man how is leaving an email for him so hard"LOL! Edgar like I said was actually quite cordial with me and my question when deciding on the coins I wanted but the whole process seemed So Rushed and on top of that there was confusion with two of the same workers there on if they could lock in a price on a pre-order Edgar said he could do it no prob then I called back to place an order the other lad picked up and said he couldn't "lock in a price" I then told him Edgar said it was possible to do that LOL! But I think these Lad's will pull through for me and send me an email with my order info and so forth considering everythign went well with the rest of you guys order's. Like I said the problem I have is Minor and so simple I just want an Email confirmation and info on tracking my order,Maybe them folks were in a bad mood since gold and silver were not so Bullish yesterday but they should just turn that frown upside down..

One thing I remember - while I ordered via the web, on one occasion for a high priced coin they did call me back to confirm. So my post was inaccurate in that there was some phone conversation involved but for a good reason I suppose.

Snaz--yeah, I've seen that too! Looks like I beat their prices on my last sale.
Since I've only ordered from their ICCS list, I just give them a call.
