This coin is part of the Legacy of the Penny 5-coin set. For the fist time in a long time it seems I am unable to find fault with any technical aspect (except maybe a couple things but that is because I'm a bit picky). The selective gold is aligned perfectly (even with magnification I cannot see any of the typical overlap). I cannot find a single dark spot or discontinuity anywhere on the frosting which is pretty amazing. The frost is a lot softer than usual - thanks to the RCM for that. Now we can enjoy a lot more of the engraver's details. I cannot find a single pit - minuscule even on any of the mirror surfaces. There are absolutely no dings, nicks, pits or blemishes that I could find. The capsules were "almost" free of particles. That would be my only major complaint... The wooden case is of good quality and the overall layout is well designed. You don't have to pry the coins out the inserts with a crowbar (but perhaps they are tiny bit too loose ...). During transport my coins popped out of the inserts and flopped around inside the case. The RCM should put a pad to prevent that to happen. I am truly satisfied with my purchase which BTW was via Talisman (my rep didn't have any). Edited by canadian_coins 11/27/2016 8:15 pm

You noticed very good things, Canadian_coins
But we can call these "improvements" only on basis this set.
Anyway, congrats for getting item without even small issues.

@bobby - Perhaps some orders were cancelled after I contacted my rep. but whatever happened I'm 100% satisfied with this set.

@SilverArt Looks like it's hit and miss with the RCM, once again. Hope you get a good replacement.

My goodness, on the first image is this a scratch on the coin, or the capsule?

Without opening the capsule I used a loupe to examine it. I am sure the scratches are on the coin. Also the nick under the the bird is very visible to the naked eye

I am no were near a expert on this but those "scratches" look like production miscues to me. Again,IMHO

Quote: Amazing how in only a couple of posts - the quality can go from WOW ....to ....Uh Oh. This was good observation... Let's add to "Uh-Oh" even more: have you seen the pictures on the other forum, where the member got damaged set and needs to return it to RCM? But being honest to RCM and the item - need to understand, that might be only 1% of these sets will have some imperfection. RCM used one of the best traditional techniques - Proof finish with gold layering - to mint very nice set. Regardless above: we are (public) very manipulative. Exactly the same was screened in the brilliant series "Black Mirror"

Though my photography skills are nowhere near as nice as Canadian Coins, I'm of the belief that my coins match those of his. It is a truly stunning collection of pennies. I give mine a WOW.
