Celebration coin?

"The United States Mint is introducing a new initiative titled the United States Mint Celebration Series, and will be offering various numismatic coin products that are packaged and positioned to celebrate special gift-giving occasions and celebratory events. The United States Mint's Celebration Series is an outreach initiative to non-traditional coin collectors and will be available to all collectors and non collectors alike."

So now they finally have products available to "non collectors." Isn't that great?

Doe the mint need a new marketing director or what?

I'm afraid our Mint is on the path of the USPostal system with way to much STUFF. They distroyed the stamp collecting hobby and now are well on the way to distroy the coin collecting hobby with way to much STUFF.

Unfortunately you are right on target. There is almost no collectability to new coins anymore. Just hype and dump and sale. Its really kind of sad.
Rest in Peace
