I admit I normally don't go for "gimmicks," but this thing is pretty neat looking. I wouldn't pay that much, but it's still pretty cool...

Yow! I'd rather have a nice Morgan for that price. If I really felt the need to wear (wear, not ware) a silver dollar I'd just buy one already pre-drilled and cheap because of that damage.

I wonder how much of the silver dollar is in the watch. Perhaps you can get two watches per dollar, using the obverse and reverse.

Impressive to look at.

Very often, these pieces only have cheap movements to maximise the profit.

If the movement is not very accurate for a quartz watch, you are left with a mutilated Morgan.

There have been a lot of coin watches made. Corum made $20 gold piece watches in the 70's and 80's that still sell for $3000-$4000 used. Jaeger-leCoultre, Piaget, Audemars Piguet, and I'm sure a few others have made gold coin watches over the years.
