I have a complete set(excluding the 1916), but I'd love to add to my collection. I love cigar boxes full of old coins. Question, how much should I expect to pay for a roll of these with dates? Thanks

Depends on the dates. For a roll of common date 25-30 SLQs in G condition you can expect to get maybe $150, while a roll of 27-S in G will set you back about $800. Of course if you go into earlier dates it becomes more expensive.

Although cigar boxes full of old coins are somewhat mystical in their appeal, coins do become damaged if they are bouncing back and forth against their brothers and sisters.
2x2's or flips are still wonderful in that cigar box.
Standing Liberties are usually sold each as any in good or better still command a premium over silver value.
Contact a dealer who buys lots of silver and they can often give you a good price on roll quantities or more.

Remember, especially buying by the roll, that "full date" does not necessarily mean an attractive example. Inevitably there will be some problems - rim issues, spots, etc. That's why they're being sold in rolls.

I would not buy SLQ's in rolls where you cannot examine each coin. As the Frog says full date only means the coin is in good condition. You know yourself that the dates before 1925 were worn off easily and the coins often were worn almost flat. I would try and get the best examples I could afford and save up for the 1916. I got a 1923-S in EF condition and I paid $1300. I thought I got a decent deal on that coin. I think this is a great set to collect especially if you get them in VF to EF condition. Even in VF there are three coins that may cost you over $1000.

I seldom post pictures on here, for it's not as user friendly as most of my of my other sites I go to. It's been a while since I tried, perhaps i'll give it another try during my Christmas time off. I bought a roll of SL quarters about 20 years back from Fox valley auction, and low and behold I found a full date 1923-s. I'm probably more of a hoarder than serious coin collector. When I say cigar box, all these coins are circulated, I pull my BU & AU coins out and put in holders.

Sorry for pictures of my arrowhead collection, but I was just playing with my only pictures on my new computer. I guess I don't have any coin pictures on my computer. I lost everything in a flood earlier this year. I'll try to start posting some pictures again soon.
