szechuan 5 cash year 1 1912 23mm dia , 5.1 g appears to be made out of a nickel type metal not copper or bronze thanks for any help regards dave

A cast charm. It does not resemble any genuine coin that I am aware of.

look for a seam along the edge. If you can see a seam, even if it has been sanded or smoothed, you know it is a cast rather than struck item. It looks cast to me.

looked at it in sunlight with a magnifying glass , no seam , has a milled edge and a lot more bronze colour in the sunlight, there was definitely a very similar coin produced in 1912,szechuan 5 cash year 1 type regards dave
