Where is the best place to sell your junk gold and silver? Jewelry Stores, Pawn Shops,etc...? Where should I expect to get the most money? I am new to all of this and I was looking for advice. Thanks in advance for your help.

Connor,

It's best to call around to ask what is being offered. Generally, coin shops offer the best return. If you're in a large metropolitan area, check your local newspaper for ads.

selling to others on a forum such as this is usually best. A coin shop or dealer is going to discount what they buy fairly heavily to turn a profit. NEVER go to a pawn shop. They rip you off hardcore.

non-internet, the best places are going to be actual coins shops. It is their business to know exactly how much the coins are worth to you and them. I have heard of some even paying 95% of melt value sometimes. But every shop is different of cource.

We do have a buy/sell/trade section on here that once members have enough quality posts they can participate.

as far as online...eBay is still technically the best. When selling silver bars or rounds individually online I almost always have gotten melt or melt +10-15%. It's more of a gamble but if you word everything right you'll do well

It would help to know what you call "junk gold and silver". Are you referring to common-date silver and gold coins, cull coins, or old broken jewelry and dental fillings? All of those will be priced differently at different locations in relation to spot.

Scrap buyer most will only give you about 80% of melt.
