This is a problem coin. Looks cleaned or whizzed. It does show a lot of detail which makes it a shame. Thoughts on grade and value?

AU details, cleaned/polished. This was a nice coin before someone took sandpaper to it.

From what I can see with my aching neck AU-58+ , Details . Cleaned and yes ,what a shame !

AU-55 details, cleaned. Not whizzed, whizzing was a process in the 1970's using a high speed wire brush that took a surface layer off thew coin giving it the cartwheel luster. It also left little pit marks near the devices where the brush stopped. I don't see any of those signs on this coin.

AU-55 details. There seems to be a light wiping, but I don't see any harsh cleaning.

Having some trouble rotating the images correctly. Tried:

1. Rotating in Windows File Manager
2. Rotating Using Image Optimizer
3. Rotating in Microsoft Photo Editor

Some of these methods work some of the time. None of the methods worked to rotate the images on this thread. They always revert to the alignment in top post even if they look ok in my other windows.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I use Irfanview to rotate my cellphone pictures if coin is in "wrong angle". For me that works well (cellphone pictures).

Really a shame that such a lovely coin was cleaned so severely.

I'm in the AU details camp on this one. I'd be putting this between two sheets of pulp paper on the window sill for a while and give it some tone to help it's appearance. It wouldn't hurt this poor girl.
