I'm new to the Coin World and I'm looking for some advice. For now I'm going to start with error pennies. What years should I focus on and what years should I just take back to the bank?

Hi there .. Good choice I'm a newbie too as well
I would suggest keep an eye for 1983 Lincoln Cent (copper coin) weighing 3.1 grams. So if you have a scale and a 1983 penny check how much weight it has. Then if it happen to weight exactly 3.1 grams then congratulations!! They cost a lot :-) I hope that helps.

I think you should look at all dates for anything unusual. Then post pictures and learn what to look for.
