the best way to find out if its plated is too weight it with a good scale in grams
with your pictures ..It might be coated with mercury... it was the thing to do back in the 60s and 70's
our whole science class in HS played with mercury back in the 70's now its poison #1.. today you couldn't even bring the stuff into the school hence play with it

As stated, we really need weight in grams.
